Setting the Stage

I thought I’d share a sweet story of how I met Jeremy with you all. It’s basically how it all began between the two of us.

Back in 2005, I got hired to work for Nine Inch Nails and help run the Spiral Fan Club. By the time I joined, the band had already been touring, and Jeremy was the drum tech. He and I hit it off instantly and became fast friends, one of my best touring buddies. On our days off, the backline crew and I would roam the streets of whatever city we were in, just enjoying our “Roadie Fridays.”

Fast forward a bit: after that tour, I got hired as the assistant tour manager for the Gwen Stefani Sweet Escape Tour. They needed a new drum tech and asked if I knew anyone. And of course, immediately, I thought: You have to hire Jeremy!

At the time, he had gone through a divorce, and I was his number one wing lady! Then one of them looked at me and said, You know, Brandi, if Jeremy’s so great, why don’t you date him?

I mean, I was over here talking about how wonderful he was and trying to set him up with everyone else. That was an interesting concept! Because, you know, we’d been friends for so long. He was my best bud.

So let’s fast forward. Jeremy got hired as the drum tech for the tour, and a few weeks in, we started developing feelings for each other. We didn’t act on it until the tour ended. And as soon as we got home, we started dating.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
